Let’s face it, going to the playground can lose its luster after a few or frequent trips. But staying in with a bored child doesn’t sound fun either. Kids love to have fun, and that’s often how they learn. So why not have some fun with them? If you’re looking for things to do in Lake Tahoe with kids, you can skip the “I’m bored” talk and go right to the fun!

3 Fun Things to do in Lake Tahoe With Kids

KidZone Museum

Since it opened in 1992, the Kidzone Museum is always at the top of my list of things to do in Lake Tahoe with kids. This museum is optimal for children seven and under and inspires learning through creative and fun play. This friendly, informative, entertaining, bilingual staff is ready to welcome you. They have plenty to offer kids, like their engaging exhibits, summer camps, Girls Who Code, the museum store, space to host a party, and Kidzone@home for online virtual fun. If that’s not enough, this fantastic museum also helps the community.  They offer free bus services and programs for low-income families so that everyone has an opportunity to learn, and they even have a volunteer program for teenagers to gain experience in service.

Join the fun at 11711 Donner Pass Rd, Truckee, CA 96161.

Taylor Creek Visitor Center

The USDA Forest Services and partners have provided recreational and environmental education since 1964. They operate seasonally in partnership with the Great Basin Institute staff, interns, and volunteers. Most of the team and volunteers have worked there or lived in the area for a long time and love sharing their knowledge of local flora, fauna, and the overall human and natural history of this scenic location. There are plenty of trails for walking or biking to enjoy the beautiful nature the Tahoe Basin offers.  They also have a gift shop to remember your fun experience. You can enjoy the outdoors together at Visitor Center Road, CA-89, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
