My Top 5 Songs to Play During Sessions

Family

As your photographer, I consider our entire time together all part of the photographer/client experience. Starting from the time you first come across my Instagram account or website, to our first email interaction, then onto our session together, and finally within the relationship we have after our session together. Each part of the process is equally important to me and I want you to enjoy every part of the process.

Because it is so important to me that you have the best experience possible with me, I have carefully tried to consider every detail of our time together. This includes the sights, sounds, and smells of your session. For this reason, I have put together a playlist of songs that help you (and your littles) relax in front of the camera so you can focus on what is most important, which is your family.

The perfect playlist

Through my years as a photographer, I have found the perfect playlist to listen to during family portrait sessions. I love to play these songs at every session because they always seem to be the perfect touch. Here are my top 5 songs to play during a family portrait session:

  1. Big Love Small Moments – JJ Heller
  2. 93 Million Miles – Jason Mraz
  3. Moments – Hollow Coves
  4. Photograph – Ed Sheeran
  5. Grow As We Go – Ben Platt

One of my greatest strengths as your photographer is to direct the session to flow seamlessly from one moment to the next. I have found by giving your session a custom playlist, that has become one of my most effective tools in directing a successful session.

The benefits of music

I have found that incorporating music into our session makes it easy to capture natural movement and moments within your family, which gives me the opportunity to capture your true self. Who you are really starts to come out when you start to move to music and I am right there to capture that. Music has a universal ability to set a tone, and the tone I aim to bring out with my playlist is joy, love, and comfort. Music brings those aspects of an image in a way we could not get any other way.

As your photographer, it is my job to make sure your entire experience working with me from start to finish is nothing short of amazing. I am always striving to be the best photographer for my clients and will do anything I need to ensure our time together results in the best photographs you will ever have taken (until our next session, of course!). So start thinking of your favorite song to listen to while we shoot because I promise you, as soon as that song starts playing, you’ll know that we are going to have an incredible session together.
